Our Legacy
Established in 1924, Elm Ridge Country Club is one of the oldest Clubs in North America. The Club’s name was likely inspired by the double row of stately elm trees that framed the short drive in from St. Joseph Boulevard (now Lakeshore Road) where it was originally situated in Dorval.
The founders could not have anticipated the overwhelming appeal of the club - by the end of its first season in 1925, our membership had grown to 221, prompting the expansion from 9 to 18 holes by 1927.
In 1960, we embarked on an ambitious evolution, relocating to Ile Bizard where we developed two championship 18-hole courses. Here, historic stone walls that once marked Seigneury boundaries now elegantly frame our fairways, blending heritage with modern excellence. These courses have since hosted many of Canada's finest players, establishing Elm Ridge as one of the nation's premier golfing destinations.
Our reputation extends beyond golf—we're renowned for exceptional dining experiences and are a sought-after venue for corporate fundraisers, weddings, and special events. Since our inception, we've maintained a leadership role in the Montreal community, as our members distinguish themselves both on and off the course.
Today, we uphold these traditions while embracing the future. Our vision centers on providing:
- A warm, welcoming environment for all members and guests
- Outstanding recreational and competitive golfing opportunities
- Premier dining and social experiences
- Championship-caliber course maintenance
- Exceptional event hosting capabilities
We remain committed to responsible financial stewardship, technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and treating our employees with the utmost respect. Through these principles, we continue setting standards of excellence for future generations.
